James D. Wohltman, Jr. "Dickie"
Passed away on September 12, 2023
James D. Wohltman Jr., “Dickie”, 90, died Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at his home. He was born September 27, 1932, on Livingston Ave in the old Bonna Bella community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James D. Wohltman, Sr., and Louise P. Wohltman, brother, Jackie, his wife, Lawanna, and his son, James D. Wohltman, III (Rick).
He was retired from American Cyanamid/Kamira after 38 years of service. Mr. Wohltman served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1955. He was a member of American Legion Post 184 for more than 35 years, a member of Alee Temple, and past president of the Oriental Band, where he recently received an award for 50 years of membership.
Dickie was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved sitting around the campfire with friends and family at his property in Sardis, GA, talking about all the world's problems and how to solve them.
Surviving are his sons, Eric S. Wohltman of Savannah, and Michael W. Wohltman of Rincon, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3:00 until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 18, 2023, at Greenwich Cemetery.
